THE DETAILS

IMPORTANT: Please read the grooming policy and fill out the Grooming Release Form and Getting to Know You Form before bringing your pet in for grooming. We will also ask all of our clients to have a completed Emergency Veterinary Release form signed and on hand.

Appointments: are booked based on breed and type of service. On your first visit, expect to leave your dog for about 1Β½ to 3 hours, depending on breed and coat condition.

We work one on one with your dog and your first visit is very important to us. We would like to get to know your dog so we can build a relationship with him or her. We take extensive notes about coat, haircut desired, and demeanor, so that for future visits we know ahead of time.

This means that we do not take in multiple dogs at one time and get to them when we can and we NEVER dry them in a cage. We have found that this helps reduce some of the anxiety that the grooming experience may cause some dogs.

It is important to us and to your dog that you are able to be on time for your appointment and pick up promptly.  This allows us to provide undivided attention to your dog and the next appointment as well.  If you have time constraints, please let us know ahead of time. We are a start to finish salon, each canine stylist servicing one dog at a time, so being on time is very important to us. If you are going to be late please give us a call 423-625-1819.

We are usually scheduled about 7 days ahead of time for appointments.  Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we are typically scheduled 10 to 14 in advance. Same day appointments are rare and we will try to accommodate and to keep a wait list during busy times.

Pricing: What are our prices based on?

All prices are based on THE BREED, AVERAGE STANDARD SIZE, LENGTH DESIRED, AND CONDITION OF THE COAT.

This is the toughest part of the grooming business. We have a general price list base for each breed which you are always welcome to see.

Please note: From visit to visit your price may vary depending on the length desired and condition of the coat. If you have any questions regarding your price, we are always happy to discuss it with you. You will always know the price before you leave your dog with us.

Dog grooming is an art. We do not get the same luxuries of your hairdresser for absolute stillness and pointing our heads in one direction. We are basically working with sharp equipment on a moving target and are very careful. Please share with us any concerns you may have about your dog’s behavior so we know ahead of time.

Severely Matted Dogs: If it is going to be painful for the pet, we do not do it. De-matting certain coats is just cruel. Occasionally we can set aside time to work on certain hair types but for the most part, prevention is key. If your pet arrives with matted hair that will take more than a few minutes to safely brush out – you will be charged a minimum of $15 per 15 minutes of brush out time.  ONLY IF WE HAVE ALREADY AGREED TO BRUSH IT OUT. You are always welcome to come in between grooms for a wash and brush out. We require a matted release form to be signed prior to grooming a matted dog. Severe mats may uncover many skin issues and this release will detail some things we may uncover.

Special Needs (Behavior or Medical): We are willing to work with dogs that have a difficult time at the groomers. We find that the way we groom, start to finish, is a positive way to groom these types of dogs. If you let us know that your dog has nervous issues, we will take every precaution we can.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES/FEES:

Services that require additional time/work to the normal grooming process. Full groom with all scissor work or dogs prepping for a show may incur higher fees.

Face, Feet, and Tail (FFT) depending on how much trim. The FFT is a service we provide for WASH dogs that need just a little bit of a clean-up. All trimming is completed by a Canine Stylist.

Flea and Tick Control: We offer a flea bath using a natural flea shampoo. Additional fee applies based upon how much flea shampoo is required.

We always try to detect fleas and ticks on a dog prior to beginning the bathing/grooming process.  Sometimes we do not notice the fleas or ticks until after the bath. If we need to re-bath your dog, an associated charge will be added as this adds additional time to the grooming process and for the fumigating clean-up process to clean the shop afterwards.

De-Skunking: We offer a bath with a natural citrus based de-skunking shampoo. We are successful in removing about 95-100% of the skunk odor, depending on how much and where your dog was sprayed. Skunk spray is very oily and the smell will linger for days, everywhere your dog touched!

Overgrown/Packed Undercoat:  Minimum charge of $10-$20 depending on size of the dog and type of coat on top of the standard grooming fee. A dog is considered overgrown if they have not been groomed with-in 8/12 weeks of their last appointment. Packed undercoat is when a dog is blowing their coat and has not been brushed out. The dead hair is usually packed in certain areas requiring additional time to blow and/or brush out.

De-Matting: $15 per 15 min. Only if agreed upon by a pet stylist.

DOG SITTING FEE: $15 per hour late pick-up without notification, per dog. We groom based on set appointment times and ask that you are able to pick your dog up within 30 minutes of completion of the groom.

NO SHOW FEE: We reserve the right to charge a $25 no-show fee for missed appointments. We all have busy schedules and realize that sometimes things come up that our out of our control. Continued missed appointments may result in enforcement of the no-show fee and possible deposit required to keep an appointment time.
